Traditional Worship Service
– 9 a.m.

Our goal is to encounter the living God in Christ, both receiving God's gifts in word and sacrament and in praising and glorifying God. Traditional worship at St. Mark's starts with Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW), a hymnal and service book. Starting with confession and absolution, the service guides worshipers through liturgy (there are several options), the proclaimed Word of God, and prayers that are written by lay people. Also part of traditional worship:

Music: pipe organ, choir anthems, and solos, often accented by brass or woodwind instruments.

Children’s message: interactive, child-oriented mini-messages, plus a monthly puppet ministry.

Holy Communion: Christ’s real presence, offered every 1st and 3rd Sunday (wine or grape juice) to all Christians who attend.

A nursery is available during all services for families with young children.

We're happy to put your special gifts to use. Opportunities always exist for those who feel led to participate: liturgists, singers & instrumentalists, actors, ushers, sound crew, greeters, and more.

Anyone interested in playing an instrument or singing in the choir should contact Liz Lauber via Email or see her after worship for more information.

If you have any comments or questions about Traditional Worship, please contact Pastor Fred Melton.
